Universal Mercedes ESL / ELV / VW Crafter / Sprinter emulator installation
The universal Mercedes ESL / ELV / VW Crafter / Sprinter emulator does not require programming.
- Disconnect the original ELV / ESL steering lock connector from the vehicle.
- If the steering lock is in the locked position, the original ESL / ELV unit must be unlocked or removed from the vehicle.
- Connect the universal Mercedes ESL / ELV emulator to the vehicle instead of the original steering lock unit.
- Insert the key into the EIS / EZS and check that the ignition switches on.
- Check engine start.
Mercedes ESL / ELV emulator indicator:
After connecting the emulator to the vehicle or to a test cable, insert the key into the EIS / EZS.
- If the green indicator lights up on the emulator, the emulator has been recognized by the system and the vehicle is ready to operate.
- If the red indicator lights up on the emulator, check that the emulator matches the specific EIS / EZS system and check the key condition.
- If the emulator indicator does not light up, check the vehicle power supply and the condition of the wiring / cables.
Additional information:
After being used on one vehicle, the emulator can be connected to another vehicle without programming.
