Mercedes ESL / ELV W204 / W207 / W212 / W176 / W246 emulator installation

  1. Disconnect the original ELV / ESL steering lock connector from the vehicle.
  2. If the steering lock is in the locked position, the original ESL / ELV unit must be unlocked or removed from the vehicle.
  3. Calculate the Mercedes EIS / EZS password using a suitable Mercedes key programming device.
  4. Program the Mercedes ESL / ELV emulator using a Mercedes key programming device.
  5. Connect the Mercedes ESL / ELV emulator to the vehicle and check system operation.

Mercedes ESL / ELV emulator indicator:

After programming the emulator and connecting it to the vehicle or to a test cable, insert the key into the EIS / EZS.

  • If the green indicator lights up on the emulator, programming has been completed successfully and the vehicle is ready to operate.
  • If the red indicator lights up on the emulator, the programming procedure was not completed correctly or the key used does not belong to this EIS / EZS system.
  • If the emulator indicator does not light up, check the vehicle power supply and the condition of the wiring / cables.

  • The Mercedes W204 / W207 / W212 ESL / ELV emulator supports most Mercedes key programming devices.
  • The emulator can be reprogrammed and reused after writing new data.
  • The emulator indicator helps determine the emulator programming status.

If FBS 4 is indicated on the ignition switch / EIS / EZS, this emulator is not applicable!
